ckon software package provides automatic build tool for ROOT data analysis software, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ckon
ckon is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ckon package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ckon *
You will get with ckon package name, version, architecture and description in a table
